Our Team

At Playbox Nursery we are passionate about caring for and educating children aged 2-5. We recognise that our staff are our most valuable asset in ensuring every child in our care is happy, healthy, confident and ready to learn.

All staff are qualified in child care and education to a Level 3 certificate or above and are committed to their own professional development, regularly attending training courses to ensure the education that the children receive is the very best it can be.

All staff hold an enhanced criminal records disclosure and are qualified in first aid.

Sarah

Owner/Manager - MA in Education (in progress) - Designated Lead for Safeguarding

Sarah has worked in early years childcare for the past 24 years becoming the owner of Playbox Pre-School in January 2004 and Playbox Nursery in 2010. Sarah worked at developing the setting and studied her BA (Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies, completing it in December 2009. Sarah has since also qualified as an A1 Assessor enabling her to develop her staff team and mentor other childcare students. Sarah has trained in and delivers the I Can Early Talk Boost program to children within the nursery.

Sarah has a hands on approach, working closely with children and families.

Claire

Deputy Manager Early Years Practitioner (Level 3) Designated Lead For Safeguarding

Claire joined Playbox Nursery in February 2011 and has previous experience of working within nursery settings in a managerial capacity.

Claire has full responsibility for the setting in the absence of the manager and is supported by admin staff and room staff.

Claire works closely with the children as a key person planning and implementing small group activities.

Nikki

Early Years Practitioner (Level 3) Designated Lead For Safeguarding

Nikki joined Playbox in January 2004 and has continued to develop her career achieving her Level 3 certificate and completing many short courses.

Nikki works closely with the children as a key person planning and implementing small group activities.

Heather

Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Heather joined Playbox Nursery in April 2016. Heather is an experienced child care practitioner with experience of working in nursery settings. Heather will work closely with the children as a key person, planning and implementing small group activities.

Stacey

Room Leader, Early Years Practitioner (Level 4)

Stacey joins Playbox in January 2013. Stacey is an experienced child care practitioner with experience of working in nursery, school and children centre settings. Stacey works closely with the children as a key person, planning and implementing small group activities.

Annick

Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Annick joined Playbox on a volunteer basis whilst studying for her Level 2 certificate in childcare. During this time Annick gained valuable experience in early years care and then continued to study her Level 3 certificate. On completion of her Level 3 Annick joined as a full member of staff in May 2012.

Annick works closely with the children as a key person planning and implementing small group activities and teaching the children French.

Kenzie

Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Kenzie joined Playbox Nursery in September 2010 and completed her Level 3 qualification in 2011.

Kenzie works closely with the children as a key person, planning and implementing small group activities.

Kate

Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Kate joined Playbox in February 2017 having previously worked in childcare settings.

Kate works closely with the children as a key person, planning and implementing small group activities.

Early Years Practitioner (BA Hons Early Childhood Studies with Social Sciences)

Jo re-joined Playbox Nursery in November 2017 having previously been worked with us for four years.
Jo works closely with the children as a key person planning and implementing small group activities.

Maria

Early Years Practitioner (Level 4) SENCO

Maria joined Playbox in September 2009 and has studied to achieve her Level 4 Certificate in Childcare and Education. Maria has particular interest in Special Educational Needs and has vast experience of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Maria has studied many short courses and has knowledge of Makaton Sign Language.

Maria works closely with the children as a key person, planning and implementing small group activities and teaching the children Spanish.

Kelly

Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Kelly joined Playbox Pre-School and Nursery in September 2015 and completed her level 3 qualification in December 2017.

Kelly works closely with the children as a key person planning and implementing small group activities.

Day Nursery

Monday to Friday 8.30am and ends at 12pm.

Monday to Friday 8.30am and ends at 3.00pm.

Monday to Friday 12.30pm and ends at 3.30pm.
