Pre-School Butterfly Project

by Playbox for News, Pre-School

The children at the Pre-School have released their butterflies this morning.  For the past few weeks the children have been following the caterpillars’ progress as they turned into butterflies as part of their work on life cycles.  The children drew pictures of the butterflies before they headed into the garden to release them.  The children were really excited to see the butterflies fly away when the net was opened, the butterflies on the other hand were a little reluctant to leave the children (and their warm home).  The children decided to put the butterflies in the tree and hoped that they would enjoy their new home in the wild.  The children have really enjoyed taking part in this activity.
